Our Story
Windowtinting.com has been established since 1997 and founded by Robert Doan – President and Chief Instructor.
Our Chief Instructor
Robert holds an Accredited Automotive Tinting Specialist Certification from the International Window Film Association (I.W.F.A.) and has been featured in both Restyling Magazine and Window Film Magazine for his recognition in these industries. He and Windowtinting.com continue to maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau (B.B.B.).
Building his expertise through years of hands-on installation work and business ownership, Robert has owned and operated three businesses, in three different states, specializing in window tinting and other aftermarket trades. This experience gave him a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in these industries. This happened, not just as an installer, but as a business owner successfully navigating different markets, customer expectations, and multiple competitive environments.
His expertise as a master installer in both window tinting, and paint protection film, extends Robert’s knowledge across all aspects of these trades. His work in these three different states exposed him to varying regulations, climate conditions, and customer preferences. This ultimately shaped his approach to the teaching techniques that work in any environment. His credentials and industry recognition reflect decades of commitment to professional excellence and advancing the standards of window tinting and PPF installations.
Our Corporate Instructor
The team at Windowtinting.com, is also proud to have Jaymi Doan – Vice President and Corporate Instructor.
Bringing a specialized expertise in residential and commercial window tinting, otherwise known as flat glass, Jaymi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and has owned and operated a successful retail window tinting business in Southern California, since 2009.
Her combination of technical mastery and business savvy, strengthens our training program, particularly for students focused on flat glass installation and business management.
Jaymi’s hands-on experience owning a highly successful retail operation provides students with practical insights into customer service, business operations, pricing strategies, and the day-to-day functions of managing a profitable window tinting business.
Together, Robert and Jaymi represent decades of combined experience in installation, business ownership, and training. Their complementary expertise, with Robert’s extensive automotive and multi-market background, combined with Jaymi’s residential/commercial specialization and business education, creates a comprehensive training program that addresses the full spectrum of skills needed to teach others how to succeed in the window tinting industry, or even the paint protection film market.

Windowtinting.com offers two training choices:
The Traditional Hands-on Courses, or our e-Learning Gateway Courses using the WTCF System®
Both training choices are built from the same curriculum and cover automotive window tinting, flat glass window tinting, paint protection film, and business management. The difference is in how and where the training is delivered, giving you the flexibility to choose the best option that fits your goals, schedule, and learning preferences.
OPTION #1:
Our Traditional Hands-on Courses can take place at our training facility where students work directly with instructors, receive immediate feedback, and practice techniques in a controlled environment over many days. This approach can provide face-to-face instructions and the opportunity to ask questions in real-time as you work through each installation process, generally over 8 hours per-day or more.
OPTION #2:
Our e-Learning Gateway Courses offer UNLIMITED 24/7 ACCESS, training students from their own location, and on their own schedule. Understand, this is NOT the same as watching random YouTube videos. These courses are structured organized lessons, built and modeled directly from the same professional standards as our hands-on curriculum. This unique and revolutionary training platform allows you to pause, rewatch demonstrations, and practice at your own pace. Plus, you can still have access to instructor live video support after you complete the e-Learning Course, along with earning our coveted FULL-COLOR Certificate of Completion.
We understand, different people learn differently, that’s why we offer both choices for our students. Some benefit most from direct instructions in a classroom setting, especially if they’ve already experienced this type of training in the past. Alternatively, others prefer the ability to control their learning pace and practice in their own environment – on their own time.
